The best uses for baking soda

We all have that typical tub of baking soda at home that we use to make cakes fluffy, or when we have gastroenteritis and need to make a homemade rehydration solution. If you think baking soda is only good for that, you have to keep reading: it is an incredibly effective exfoliator, you can add it to the washing machine to wash your white clothes, and, when used with caution, it also whitens your teeth!

We’ll tell you about some of the best uses for baking soda, although if you do a little research, you’re sure to find many more:

1. FACIAL EXFOLIATOR:

In a glass, mix 1 part water with 3 parts baking soda and apply it by massaging your face in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Rinse well afterward and hydrate your skin with your usual moisturizing or nourishing cream. All the dead skin cells will disappear, and you will achieve extraordinary softness. You can do this once every two weeks.

2. DEEP HAIR CLEANING:

Put a teaspoon of baking soda in your hand, dampen it until you get a thick paste, and massage it into your scalp. Leave it on your hair for about five minutes and then rinse well. Then use your usual shampoo. You will notice your hair is more vibrant and cleaner.

3. SOOTHING IRRITATION:

Put a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water. Then, dampen a cotton pad with it and apply to the skin by dabbing. Always avoid contact with the eye area. It is ideal for after shaving!

4. NATURAL DEODORANT:

Baking soda is an ideal ingredient for neutralizing bad odors. You can apply it as a paste to your armpits or diluted in water, like an exfoliator, to remove the dark discoloration that sometimes appears in this part of the body. In this case, it is advisable to apply it twice a day using gentle circular massages.

5. WHITENING TEETH AND FIGHTING BAD BREATH:

Mix a little baking soda with water and a pinch of salt, then use the resulting paste to brush your teeth and remove stains. Another good idea is to gargle with water and baking soda to combat bad breath. Try this simple mixture; in the next post, I will give you a recipe for a natural, whitening, and antiseptic toothpaste. You’ll see how easy it is!!
