Among natural catastrophes, drought is one of the most concerning, as it is gradually affecting more areas of the planet.

While it is true that drought, as well as floods, can cyclically affect any place on the planet, the reality is that human beings are fostering natural catastrophes by failing to take care of the environment.

In the face of natural disasters like drought, it is clear that while we wait for the rain, we must apply two groups of practical strategies or solutions: one would be to seek maximum water conservation and the other would be to take care of the environment:

  • Implementing organic farming,
  • Reducing pollution,
  • Restoring forests through reforestation.

At Herbera, we firmly believe in organic products, and not just because we don't want to add toxins to our skin, but because they help preserve biodiversity and increase soil fertility and productivity. Furthermore, organic farming:

  • Adapts better to climate change. For example, when floods occur, soils rich in organic matter absorb more water during heavy rainfall.
  • Has proven to be better adapted to periods of drought by reducing soil erosion and better conserving water.
  • In organic farming, greenhouse gas emissions are lower than in conventional farming.
  • Eliminates the risk of surface and groundwater contamination from synthetic pesticides. This is important for drinking water and fish farming.

As we mentioned in this post, Herbera is certified cosmetics with the Bioinspecta seal designed to achieve the greatest possible use of certified organic and/or simple natural ingredients. If you needed one more reason to use organic cosmetics, here it is!
