We’ve been awarded again!

The Beauty Shortlist Awards 2023, the prestigious international awards, have awarded us once again for the second consecutive year!

We are very excited and grateful for these recognitions, which drive us to continue researching and selecting the most innovative and effective skincare actives, always in a sustainable way.

These awards are a distinction that we want to share with all of you, the people who follow us, support us with every one of your orders, and make Cosmetics HERBERA possible; these awards are also yours.

The challenges involved in the formulation of each awarded product.

Every year in the laboratory, we set ourselves new goals regarding new developments and product launches. To do this, we take into account the messages you leave us regarding needs, as well as the innovations presented by the cosmetic industry in terms of new dermo-cosmetic actives.

We spend the year studying and soaking up new trends in cosmetics, comparing the results of skin trials of different ingredients, requesting samples from our suppliers, and looking for the best cosmetic formulas to achieve the most appropriate active delivery, texture, and sensory experience.

Some products are more difficult to formulate than others; there are the more pleasant ones and those that remain a challenge, which we continue to work on.

Today I want to tell you about some challenges I had to face for the development of these 5 products awarded with the EDITOR’S CHOICE accolade this year.

We’ll tell you about them one by one:

EDITOR’S CHOICE 2023

BAKUCHIOL WELL-AGING CREAM

For its development, I focused on achieving a texture that was unctuous enough to repair and nourish mature skin while also including a very high concentration of well-aging active ingredients.

And the challenge was obtaining high-purity bakuchiol, because the quality available on the market did not meet our standards. Finally, I found bakuchiol with 99.99% purity, an extremely high-quality active, and it shows in the product.

EDEN REAFIRMING OIL

The challenge was to achieve a texture that was denser than an oil, yet fast-absorbing, similar to that of a cream. Eden is an oleogel that combines the nourishing properties of oil with those of a nourishing milk, to provide the benefits of both in a single product.

BEAUTY SHORTLIST COMMENDED 2023

BIO SERUM VIT C+E FERULIC & HYALURONIC

I focused on developing a very effective cosmetic to delay photo-aging, and for this, I looked for natural actives with the highest antioxidant capacity and combined them all, enhancing their efficacy.

It was not easy to obtain a vitamin C that was not synthetic, but I succeeded. And besides being natural, our vitamin C is not photosensitive, so it can be used during the day to boost the properties of sunscreens.

BLACK MOON

The formulation challenge consisted of creating a soap-free cleanser that was multifunctional:

• Deeply cleanses the skin and removes dead cells.
• Turns into a moisturizing milk when mixed with water.
• Can also be used as a mask to absorb excess oil.

EYE CONTOUR HYALURONIC

The challenge during its development was to create an eye contour cream capable of addressing the three most common problems in this very delicate area of our face: puffiness, dark circles, and wrinkles.

Taking these three issues into account, the challenge consisted of formulating a multifunctional product that could effectively improve them.
