How to prepare your skin for when we finally get out of quarantine

It seems that a new phase has finally begun, and depending on where we live, we will be able to go out little by little and with extreme caution. Obviously, nothing is the same as what we left behind over 50 days ago. Our skin is not the same either. The lockdown has also taken its toll on a cutaneous level.
These are some of the most frequent problems we have noticed in our skin these days:
- Increased dehydration, dryness, and in more extreme cases, flaking.
- Appearance of new wrinkles and more pronounced expression lines due to dehydration.
- Dark circles and pronounced puffiness.
- Acne breakouts, clogged pores, and the appearance of blackheads.
- Redness, reaching the point of dermatitis and rosacea in some cases.
- Lack of luminosity, dull skin without vitality.
- Increased sensitivity, even leading to skin inflammation.
Why has the quarantine affected my skin?
The reasons vary depending on each person's circumstances. But it is true that there are a series of causes that are the most common and that we could say we have all gone through at some point:
- The lack of restful sleep. Sleeping well is fundamental for our skin, and a bad night is reflected almost instantly.
- The increase in stress or, in some cases, anxiety. Acne breakouts, redness, and lack of radiance are symptoms of psychological stress. Furthermore, stress also causes changes in our behavior, such as touching our face more, which leads to an increase in toxins on our skin.
- Diet: sweets, fried foods, and alcohol are known enemies of our skin.
- The lack of Vitamin D; sunlight and fresh air are fundamental for general health and for the health of our skin in particular. The environment inside homes is much drier, which causes the skin to dehydrate.
- Increased use of electronic devices: computers and mobile phones that emit blue light also harm our skin, as we tell you in this blog post
How to care for your skin when returning to the streets after quarantine
After the storm comes the calm
Fortunately, we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and we have to prepare our skin to look radiant in record time. Let's do it!
Cleansing, always fundamental
For any routine to be efficient, cleansing is fundamental, but now more than ever. In the morning, at night, and when you return from the street, apply the DAMASK ROSE MICELLAR WATER; it will provide cleansing, purification, and a feeling of freshness without drying or dehydrating the skin.
Also, if you don't have them yet, it is time to discover our botanik masks: cleansing, exfoliation, and removal of dead cells, while also providing antioxidant or purifying active ingredients according to your needs.
Calming
Most of the inquiries we have received in these days have been regarding redness, rosacea, and acne. That is why it is fundamental to use cosmetics that calm your skin. For this, of course, Herbera's recommendation is always that you use certified organic cosmetics.
Specifically, to calm your skin, we recommend:
HYALURONIC CONCENTRATE BIOSERUM: Deeply revitalizing and firming, it is a powerful anti-aging treatment that protects and calms your skin while helping cutaneous regeneration.
ROSEHIP AND CALENDULA FACIAL FLUID: A great ally against redness and indicated for skin with rosacea. Deep hydration that provides calm and an anti-inflammatory effect.
BURDOCK AND BLACK CUMIN FACIAL FLUID. It hydrates by limiting the skin's excessive sebum production and helps calm skin irritations.
Re-hydrating
It is fundamental that your skin be efficiently hydrated so you can fight dryness and wrinkles once again. For this, in addition to the Hyaluronic Concentrate Bio Serum, you can include the following in your routine: HYALURONIC POMEGRANATE AND GRAPE ANTI-WRINKLE MOISTURIZER: It hydrates and deeply nourishes the skin while stimulating cell renewal and delaying skin aging.
Nourishing
If you notice your skin is very dry, chapped, and lacking vitality, I suggest two must-haves in my routine that will not leave you indifferent:
ARGAN AND AVOCADO FACIAL FLUID: It nourishes the skin deeply, helping to fight free radicals. It provides you with lasting and intense nourishment without making you oily. Rapid absorption, nourishing deeply.
BIOSERUM ACTIVE FACIAL OIL: With regenerating, purifying, and calming properties. A true organic cocktail that restores tissues.
Illuminate yourself
We need a boost of vitamins and antioxidant active ingredients to fight free radicals, and for that, our VITAMIN C+E+FERULIC+HYALURONIC BIO SERUM reigns supreme. Powerful illuminators with depigmenting, photoprotective, and anti-wrinkle action. Antioxidant active ingredients in high concentration and of natural origin that will manage to restore the natural radiance and vitality of your face.
A touch of color
Of course, before going out, apply our BBCREAM, which provides a uniform touch of color and conceals imperfections. Furthermore, they contain probiotics and prebiotics to help the natural balance of our skin. We need to feel good about ourselves more than ever. Let's go for it!
At Herbera, we have formulated a 100% ORGANIC “SAFE&BEAUTY” SANITIZING MIST. 100% natural and 100% organic, it not only cleans and hydrates hands effectively, but it also protects and balances our skin—already damaged by so much washing—with NON-AGGRESSIVE disinfection.
